Blog Journal #2
I'm sure anyone that's reading this post, at some point used Microsoft Word to make an essay for some reason either scholastically or not. Personally, I mainly used word to forge essays that were do in school. Never, have I used MS Word in a creative manner because if I needed to make a presentation, I would just use Microsoft PowerPoint. It wasn't until my EME2040 class in college that I would have to create a newsletter which was very new to me because I lacked the skills for design in word. My educators throughout my schooling never really showed me how to use word in different modes or ways. The most different thing i saw were lesson plans but those weren't unique, they were all nearly the same as if they all shared a template.
My experience with copyrights and fair use of materials was taken very seriously except when it came to pictures. We could use any picture we found online for presentation and it wasn't until college that I found out one must attribute images as well. As a teacher, I would put a large emphasis on crediting others work through attributions and citation as to make sure students who'd like to distribute their work publicly not be in the problematic situation of their work being considered plagiarism. When it comes to making my own instructional material, I'll try my very best to make everything as unique as possible but if i need information or graphic from another resource, I will cite and attribute in order to avoid the same issues mentioned before and set an example for my students.
With technology implementation in the classroom, arises some issues. One important issue is academic dishonesty which some students become guilty of when they decide to simply use copy and paste function so they don't have to do much work. To resolve this issue, I will not allow any sort of plagiarism in the class and will use anti-plagiarism and plagiarism checker software such as turnitin.com. Another very detrimental issue is cyber-bullying, which becomes an issue when student learns to bring emotional harm to others through means of technological public avenues such as internet and social media. To remediate this issue, I will adopt a zero-tolerance policy and report all students guilty of cyber-bullying to those with authorities. I will also teach my students the consequences of cyber-bullying that may occur to both the victim and the perpetrator so that they develop a sense of awareness that will give them a sense of empathy.

I am glad that you experienced multiple uses of Word! Great insights about intellectual property and copyright issues as a future teacher!
