Blog Post #3
- I feel most prepared on teaching the ELA technology standards for 7th grade. This is due to me having experience with most of the skills identified such as using diverse media to reinforce a presentation, argument, or evidence. I also had the advantage of learning some of these skills such as making and finding blogs in my EME2040 class that I am currently attending in my Freshman year a Florida State University. The 11-12th grade ELA technology standards are the ones I feel I still need to work on as this is the desired grade I wish to teach. I struggle on these as they are influenced heavily on design which I feel I still need to work on.
- CPALMS has many tools that all educators around the world should use. One tool that it provides which is extremely helpful is the Curriculum Planner, also known as CMAP. This tool not only helps educators create lesson plans but also provide many helpful resources that educators could use in their classrooms. It also arranges lesson plans on grade, subject, & course which makes it both easy & time effective for teachers to construct lesson guides for upcoming classes.
- I was my duty to create a Newsletter for my EME2040 class & this assignment proved to be more difficult than I thought. I learned many things such as how to split my paper into columns & how to create a continuous break in order to format a single page two different ways. This can be very helpful when I want to send out informational home with students in hopes that it keeps parents fairly informed about the classroom as well as their student's responsibilities throughout my class. I felt as if I needed to work on my designing capabilities so I can make newsletters more readable & attractive but I Liked that I managed to display a banner while also creating a header that looked very appealing. I also really liked the font that I chose which made my newsletter more kept & nice. Here's a screenshot so you can see how it looks.
Curriculum planner sounds really interesting! Look at that newsletter!!! Great job! :)
