  • I was very surprised of all the information I could find about Ms. M Clark's class (provided a link so you can see for yourself) by just visiting Benton's school teacher pages. She teaches both a history class mandatory for 8th graders & a geography class, which is an elective course. This was easily found in her syllabus for both classes which can be found on the "files" section of her page. On her main page, which is updated regularly, you can find important announcements like upcoming major assignment. She also provides a "calendar" page, where one can see all events & assignments & when they will take place or when they are due. Here is the home page which I took a screenshot of:

  • I plan on using technology in my classroom in order to accomplish my professional responsibilities as sponsoring student engagement & effective learning as well as making sure both students are well-informed. In order to sponsor student engagement & effective learning, I will both use & provide useful academic resources that student can use inside & outside the classroom. To keep student & parents well-informed, I will provide information as well as regularly updated announcements on a teacher page which I will create. I will use this teacher page to publish information such as due dates & important events.
  • Last week, I visited the Tech Sandbox in the Stone Building at FSU. It had various forms of technology that could be used in the classroom. For example, the 3D printer can be used to print out countries in a 3-Dimensional form so students could better visualize countries. Another piece of technology that I tried out was Virtual Reality through the Oculus Rift. Students could use this as a way to visit places around the world so they could have personal experiences with what we're learning. For example, if we are learning about the holocaust, the students can use VR to visit the Anne Frank House without having to spend thousands of dollars on a trip half-way across the world.
