In my EME 2040 class & we started using Diigo which I found to be very helpful when sharing articles with valuable information to both peers and friends. I like how you can highlight and add sticky notes to websites that can be seen by those in your group so they can see your thoughts. I also like that you can tag and categorize your articles so they're more organized when you want to access a certain topic in the future. I didn't dislike anything about Diigo except for that i had to re-download the extension every time i entered my class due to the computer reset. Blogging to me is very important when you want to display your ideas and have others opinions on the matter at hand. I like blogging because it forces me to acknowledge the information I have been provided which makes me remember it much more clearly. Taking part in a twitter chat was very influential in my learning of the skills necessary to become an effective educator. There are so many questions people have that I didn't realize even existed. The twitter chat I participated in was "OK2ASK" & provided much needed information. There were people who even provided resources for different tasks. For example, some provided "Seesaw" which is a tool that can be used to foster parent engagement. There are many twitter chats that one can take part in & you can just scroll down the thread & look at others opinions & answers to various questions. I learned ways to foster parent engagement, the importance of student anwgaments & how to implant it in the classroom, as well as the importance of technology in the classroom that is being reinforced by my EME2040 class. Ive provided a way to access a voice thread if you want to hear more about my experience.

I feel most prepared on teaching the ELA technology standards for 7th grade. This is due to me having experience with most of the skills identified such as using diverse media to reinforce a presentation, argument, or evidence. I also had the advantage of learning some of these skills such as making and finding blogs in my EME2040 class that I am currently attending in my Freshman year a Florida State University. The 11-12th grade ELA technology standards are the ones I feel I still need to work on as this is the desired grade I wish to teach. I'm sure anyone that's reading this post, at some point used Microsoft Word to make an essay for some reason either scholastically or not. Personally, I mainly used word to forge essays that were do in school. Never, have I used MS Word in a creative manner because if I needed to make a presentation, I would just use Microsoft PowerPoint. It wasn't until my EME2040 class in college that I would have to create a newsletter which was very new to me because I lacked the skills for design in word. My educators throughout my schooling never really showed me how to use word in different modes or ways. The most different thing i saw were lesson plans but those weren't unique, they were all nearly the same as if they all shared a template. The Introduction to ISTE Standards There are many influences on both teachers & students that causes them to introduce technology in to their curriculum. For students, it allows them to construct & produce unique learning experience which are very useful in the retention of information. Technology also allows students to connect with others globally to enhance their avenues of learning for a form of enrichment. For educators or teachers, it allows them to improve how they teach by being able to connect with other resources technologically. It also allows them to be creative when they deliver lessons so that they can make up for students who better learn in different ways. The ISTE standards allow for almost all those with careers in education to be able to further enhance their careers through the use of these technology. My Very First Blog          Thank you for visiting my blog. I would like to give a brief introduction of myself and why I set this blog up. I currently belong in the Social Science Education major at Florida State University and my passion to change the lives of those kids who had none to look to for inspiration and motivation is what moved me towards this path.  I was one of these kids and it was my social studies teacher in higschool that changed the very way that I looked at the world. It went from a dismal place bathed in misfortune and ill comings to a place of glory and meaning through sheer hard work and dedication.
